Privacy Policy

What data we process, why we use it, who receives it, and the controls available to you.

Last updated: October 19, 2026

Versión en español: Política de privacidad.

1. Scope and acceptance

This Policy explains how personal data is processed in connection with current ZonaVenta features. When you complete an account, you expressly accept the current version of this Policy together with the Terms and Conditions. We record the date and versions accepted and may require renewed acceptance after material changes before account features can be used.

General acceptance of this Policy does not replace separate choices required for optional communications or features. For example, promotional recommendation messages on WhatsApp are enabled separately and may be withdrawn without closing the account.

2. Browsing without an account and technical data

You may browse and search without registering. In that case we do not create an identified marketing profile merely to display listings. Like any web service, our infrastructure may process technical data required to deliver and protect a request, such as IP address, user agent, date and time, requested route, security identifiers, referrer information, and attribution parameters when present.

3. Categories of data we may process

  • Account data: name, email, phone, profile image, account type, language, internal identifiers, and legal acceptance dates/versions.
  • Verification data: information and documents you submit to verify identity or a business, plus verification status or level.
  • Listing data: title, description, price, category, attributes, approximate location, photos, video links, status, and dates.
  • Commercial activity: contacts, leads, messages, notes, appointments, follow-up, favorites, saved searches, reviews, and negotiation status when those features are used.
  • Preferences and consent: alert channels, WhatsApp consent, global or per-listing opt-outs, seller scheduling settings, and Boost outreach settings.
  • Payments and entitlements: plan, purchases, wallet balance, promotional credits, Boosts, benefit usage, and payment references. We seek to avoid storing full card details where the payment processor can handle them directly.
  • Usage and performance: views, shares, contacts, source attribution, UTM values, errors, performance metrics, and anti-fraud signals.
  • Support and security: support communications, reports, moderation records, appeals, and technical logs needed to investigate abuse or protect the service.

4. Photos, location, and media

Photos may contain EXIF metadata, including coordinates. ZonaVenta attempts to remove such metadata before public storage and uses the location selected by the user for the listing. Public interfaces should display an appropriate area or reference rather than a private exact address unless the user knowingly publishes it and the relevant feature permits it.

5. Why we use data

We use data as reasonably necessary to:

  • create and manage accounts, seller profiles, and verification;
  • publish, display, rank, search, moderate, and share listings;
  • provide favorites, saved searches, alerts, and requested recommendations;
  • manage contacts, CRM, appointments, follow-up, and support;
  • apply plans, limits, payments, credits, Boosts, and purchased entitlements;
  • measure performance, attribution, conversions, and service quality;
  • prevent fraud, spam, abuse, unauthorized access, and prohibited use;
  • comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and defend rights; and
  • improve functions using aggregated, minimized, or anonymized information where feasible.

6. Searches, recommendations, Boosts, and audience selection

An ordinary anonymous search does not by itself turn a visitor into an identified person for marketing. If a person signs in, saves a search, interacts with the assistant, or contacts a listing, we may retain the signals needed to provide that feature and, where appropriate consent exists, determine whether a new or re-promoted listing matches the interests expressed.

Boost-related distribution does not authorize indiscriminate outreach. For WhatsApp, we require both a relevant relationship to the content and active consent for recommendation messages. A previous message alone is not treated as promotional consent. Recipients may withdraw all recommendation consent or mute only one listing when the notice provides that option.

7. WhatsApp, email, and other communications

Operational messages may include security notices, responses to a request, appointment status, support, or information required to provide a feature you requested. Promotional or recommendation messages are handled separately where applicable. We honor opt-out requests and retain minimum suppression information where necessary to avoid re-enrolling a person by mistake.

For WhatsApp, messages initiated by ZonaVenta outside provider-permitted service windows may require approved templates and may be subject to Meta rules and pricing. General acceptance of this Policy is not used as a substitute for any opt-in required for recommendation messaging.

8. Artificial intelligence and automated processing

Some features may send the minimum text needed to an AI provider to interpret a search, help draft, summarize, classify, or support a user. We design routing to avoid sending personal data to external AI providers when a request can be handled locally or with deterministic rules, and apply additional filtering before using external AI.

We do not use an AI output as the sole basis for a legal or similarly significant decision about a person. Moderation, safety, and recommendation functions may use automation, but relevant matters remain subject to support or human review mechanisms.

9. Who may receive data

We share data only as reasonably necessary with providers supporting infrastructure, storage, databases, identity, messaging, email, payments, analytics, security, AI, or support. Current architecture may include services from Cloudflare (hosting and database), Resend (account emails), Google (backups), Telegram, and Meta/WhatsApp, plus infrastructure privately administered by ZonaVenta. Providers may change as needed to operate the service safely and efficiently.

We may also disclose information when required by a competent authority, to protect rights or safety, investigate fraud, or resolve a dispute. When an authority asks, we check that the request has a legal basis, disclose only what is strictly necessary and keep a record of the request and our answer. We do not sell personal-data databases to advertisers, and a seller does not receive a visitor's identity merely because that person viewed a listing.

Collaborator program. If you use a collaborator's code, that person sees your name, your plan, its start and end dates, and what they earn from your payments. They don't see your phone, email, messages or private listings. When you use a code we keep the date and the IP address to prevent fraud. If you are a collaborator, we keep your name, your encrypted ID number (cédula), the date, the IP address, the browser and the version of the terms you signed, and your payout accounts with the number encrypted. Only the team that makes payouts sees the full number, when it is about to transfer. More in the Collaborator program terms (in Spanish).

Your Facebook Page and Instagram. If you connect your Facebook Page or your Instagram to post your listings, we keep that Page's permission encrypted and the history of what was posted. When you disconnect we delete the permission and cancel anything scheduled; when you close your account we also delete the history.

10. International processing

Some technology providers may process or store information outside the Dominican Republic. When that occurs, we seek providers with appropriate security and privacy commitments and limit the transferred information to what the function reasonably requires. International processing does not eliminate rights available under applicable Dominican law.

11. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards intended to reduce risks of unauthorized access, alteration, loss, or disclosure. Measures may include transport encryption, access controls, separation of secrets, security logging, rate limiting, backups, and integration reviews. No Internet-connected system can guarantee zero risk.

12. Retention and deletion

We retain each category for as long as reasonably needed to provide the function, meet obligations, preserve reporting integrity, prevent fraud, or address claims. Listing periods:

  • Drafts never published: deleted with their photos 7 days after creation.
  • Expired or sold listings: hidden, and kept complete with photos for 60 days on Gratis and 12 months on paid plans (60 days from the change if the account moves to Gratis). Then archived: photos and description are deleted; the summary, statistics, CRM contacts and reviews are kept.
  • Listings you delete: 30 days in your trash, restorable; then deleted for good, or archived if they have contacts or reviews.
  • Statistics: daily for 90 days, then as monthly totals.
  • Saved contacts on hold: if your plan ends and you have more than Gratis allows, those beyond the allowance are kept 90 days, you can download them, and they return if you go back to a plan. Then their name, phone and notes are deleted; your CRM clients, reports, statistics, ratings and reviews are kept.
  • We notify you before each step in the “Avisos de ZonaVenta” chat and on your phone.

Closing your account. Ask in Mi perfil (My profile) → Seguridad y cuenta (Security and account) → Más (More) → Cuenta (Account) → Eliminar mi cuenta (Delete my account). Your listings are hidden at once and you have 30 days to cancel. Then your personal data (name, email, phone, photo, username, business details, sign-in methods, sessions, notifications, searches and interests) is deleted or anonymized and your listings are archived. Records other people or the law need are kept without your identity: payments and wallet entries (accounting), what other sellers noted in their CRM, chat messages (they also belong to the other person), reviews and the consent log. Backups rotate within 5 days and are not used as an operational source. This also applies to a deletion request under Law 172-13.

13. Your rights and controls

Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, updating, and, where applicable, deletion of personal data, and may withdraw optional consent. You may also manage saved searches, alert channels, seller appointment settings, Boost outreach settings, and WhatsApp opt-outs using the controls available in the service.

To exercise a right or submit a privacy complaint, use the help center. We may request reasonable information to verify that the request comes from the data subject or an authorized representative.

14. Minors and legal capacity

Features involving publishing, buying a plan, selling, leasing, or assuming obligations must be used by persons with legal capacity to contract or through a lawful representative where required. ZonaVenta is not designed to deliberately collect minors' data for behavioral advertising.

15. Cookies and local storage

We use cookies or equivalent technologies where necessary for sessions, security, preferences, and operation. Non-essential analytics or advertising technologies, if enabled, are governed by the Cookie Policyand the consent controls applicable at that time.

16. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy when features, providers, risks, or legal requirements change. Material changes receive a new version; where they materially affect data processing tied to an account, renewed acceptance may be required. We retain acceptance history for traceability.

17. Contact, governing law, and language

This Policy is governed by the applicable laws of the Dominican Republic, including Law 172-13 on personal-data protection where applicable. Questions, rights requests, or security concerns may be submitted through the help center. The Spanish version is the primary legal text; this English translation is provided for convenience unless mandatory law requires otherwise.
